Our Process

The city of Shelby, Ohio owns and operates their own municipal light plant and has for over 100 years.  The city has been awarded several times for operating a reliable and efficient public power system by the American Public Power Association.

When they were looking to upgrade their old, leaking, and inefficient steel casement windows, they turned to GBA to provide an efficient, durable glass block replacement options.  They chose a wavy pattern glass block to limit transparency, while still showering the interior of the plant with natural light.  The multiple sizes available made it possible to create properly sized windows for the multitude of different existing openings that the city wanted replaced.

GBA provided a turnkey option from demolition of the large casements to the installation and sealing of the new glass block system.  The city relied on GBA's 35 years of experience in the commercial glass block construction industry to execute the work following manufacturers specifications and requirements.  We provided product choices, samples and specific drawings to develop confidence for the city.  The result is a durable, magnificent product meeting all the needs of the community.
