Our Process

Built by JT Magen, the adidas Flagship store on 5th Avenue opened its doors in 2016. The goal of the store is to usher in a new era in how consumers experience creativity and sport-in stores.  The design of the store gets its inspiration from high school stadiums.  The store front includes a tunnel entrance, stands that resemble live-games, locker rooms instead of dressing rooms, and a track and turf area that gives consumers an opportunity to test products.  Consumers can also enjoy fitness consultants from EXOS trainers and a fresh juice bar.

The store includes eight Cast Iron and Paver panels hanging in the hallway.  The architect for the adidas project was Rosenwasser Grossman Consulting Engineers.  Rosenwasser Grossman was founded in 1954 and specializes in high rise concrete structures.

One of the teams' goals was to showcase uncommon products and uses.  The project has won 11 industry awards and continues to showcase unique design concepts.

After contacting and collaborating with GBA Architectural Products + Services, one of the exciting products chosen was our Composite Cast Iron Panels.  Light enough in weight to hang from the ceiling, these products still give the look and feel of vintage cast iron.  Magen created a simple, hidden support system and GBA supplied and installed eight 2' x 4' prefabricated composite cast iron panels suspended from the ceiling.  The integral framework is finished with a black patina finish and the panels are glazed with hundreds of round, shimming solid glass prisms.  Backlit and beautiful, the panels were seamlessly included in the award-winning fit out.
